The Buildings

home | the buildings | computer building (574) | further pictures...

The upper storey of the Computer Building is similar to the ground floor with a large central room, surrounding corridors and more offices. This east-west corridor traverses the northern side of the building; tiny offices on the left and the former computer room on the right.

"The upper floor was offices, data prep rooms (punch card and paper tape) and rest rooms. I only saw the central room (above the computer room) once, I don't believe it was the Cell 3 control room as I recollect it had skylights and was never very busy up there. If it was the control room it would have been busy during run times and the computer building was never "busy"." - Mike
