The Buildings

home | the buildings | number 9 exhauster (635) | further pictures...

This blurred photograph (taken in a hurry because we saw people in Cell 4 and were making a quick exit) shows the crane gantry over the loading bay and the stairs from which the earlier photographs were taken.

The Parsons exhauster is mounted within a steel frame on the left with steps leading down to ground level on the right. The connection between the exhauster and Cell 4 can be seen next to the loading bay from left to right; an enormous diameter pipe similar to the rest of Pyestock’s suction mains.

The view of the turbine hall from the southeast corner.
