We finally reach the end of the water cooled diffuser and find a vast dark space. Progress here in
the pitch dark becomes very slow as we gingerly pick our way forward, aided only by the light of our torches.
The three large nozzles were used to connect a large circular cooling pipe to the centre of
the exahust cooler. This has long gone but can be seen in
archive photographs.
Also present in this section are the inhibition torches. These would be lit during engine tests and would burn
off any unburned fuel or partially combusted exhaust gases.
